Fern is a young human mage and the devoted apprentice of Frieren in Frieren: Beyond Journey's End. Orphaned by war and saved from suicide by the priest Heiter, she trained relentlessly to become the youngest mage in history to pass the third-class exam with the highest score. She wields basic offensive magic with unmatched speed and precision, overwhelming enemies through rapid-fire Zoltraak rather than exotic spells. Despite being the youngest member of the party, Fern acts as its responsible mother – waking Frieren, managing their schedule, and bickering with Stark. Her stoic demeanor masks deep loyalty and a perceptive nature that allowed her to detect even Serie's hidden mana instability. She seeks magic not for herself, but because seeing Frieren happy makes her happy too.
